Special Teams Coach Purnell's Contract Not Renewed
INDIANAPOLIS – The Colts made another coaching staff move Wednesday.

The contract of Russ Purnell, the Colts' special teams coach the past seven seasons, has not been renewed, the club announced on Wednesday.

The move came a day after Jim Caldwell – also a Colts assistant the past seven seasons – was promoted from associate head coach to head coach, replacing Tony Dungy, the Colts' head coach since 2002.

Caldwell on Tuesday said Frank Reich, an offensive assistant this past season, will be promoted to quarterbacks coach. Reich played quarterback for 14 NFL seasons with Buffalo, Carolina, the New York Jets and Detroit.
