CINCINNATI – The next time the Colts take the field, the result of the game will actually count.
Having said that: The Colts' preseason finale against the Cincinnati Bengals at Paycor Stadium counted plenty for those who played Saturday, with spots on the 53-man roster – which will be unveiled by 4 p.m. Tuesday – up for grabs. And plenty of Colts players had strong showings in a 41-7 blowout win.
Rookie quarterback Riley Leonard started and played the entire first half, completing 15 of 20 passes for 189 yards with a 59-yard touchdown to wide receiver Laquon Treadwell. Leonard, a 2025 sixth-round pick, finished his afternoon with a passer rating of 120.9; he also picked up 14 yards on a scramble.
Treadwell led the Colts with six catches for 116 yards and that touchdown, which came late in the second quarter.
Safety Daniel Scott, a 2023 fifth-round pick who missed 2023 with a torn ACL and 2024 with a torn Achilles' – injuries both sustained during OTAs – had a 35-yard pick-six of Bengals quarterback Desmond Ridder in the first quarter.
Undrafted rookie running back Ulysses Bentley IV added a touchdown in the first half, and kicker Spencer Shrader connected on a 46-yard field goal in the first quarter; he later hit a 44-yarder in the second half. The Colts held a 24-7 lead at halftime, after which Jason Bean tagged in at quarterback for Leonard.
Bentley dashed in for a 12-yard touchdown early in the third quarter, and Bean connected on a seven-yard touchdown to wide receiver Coleman Owen later in the third quarter.
While the Colts opted to not play the vast majority of their first- and second-string players, a handful did get snaps in the first half on Saturday, including:

- Wide receiver Adonai Mitchell (15 snaps)
