The Colts opened their home preseason slate Saturday, dropping the matchup with the Atlanta Falcons 34-6.
Once again, the main conversation surrounding Saturday's game was the backup quarterback battle. Riley Leonard led the offense in the first half, going 7/14 for 62 passing yards and recovered a fumble. Anthony Richardson Sr. tapped in in the second half, completing three of his nine passes for 24 yards.
Second-year receiver Coleman Owen led the team in receiving, accounting for 39 yards on one catch. Running back Anderson Castle was the Colts' lead rusher, with 41 yards on eight carries
The linebackers led the way on defense, with Austin Aijake and Jaylon Carlies each tallying six total tackles. Rookie LB CJ Allen made his horseshoe debut and racked up three total tackles. Fellow rookie LB Bryce Boettcher recorded four tackles.
Following a week he made a 61-yard field goal, Spencer Shrader seemingly didn't lose a step. He went 2/2 on field goals, including kicks made from 48 and 53 yards. Blake Grupe came in to kick in the second half, where he missed his lone attempt from 36 yards out.
The Colts take on the Atlanta Falcons at Lucas Oil Stadium in Week 2 of the 2026 preseason.
