QB-PEYTON MANNING (on being named NFL MVP)
"I really feel like it's a team award, just what our team went through this year and the way we responded and bounced back to a little bit of football adversity at the beginning of the season, being 3-4. I just can't tell you how much I appreciate the opportunity to play with great football players as teammates, but also I really accept this award on behalf of the team and the organization, starting with (Owner and CEO) Jim Irsay, (President) Bill Polian, (Head Coach) Tony Dungy and his staff. There's no way that we would be in the playoffs right here and could've bounced back from a 3-4 season and won some of these fourth-quarter close games without those three people and their staff creating a winning environment and atmosphere. I really feel that's what got us to that point as a team. I know it's an individual award, but I truly accept it as a team award and am just grateful for the opportunity to play with these players and this organization."
QB-PEYTON MANNING (on joining Brett Favre as the only three-time MVPs)
"I'm honored to receive this award firstly because of the numerous other worthy candidates that were in the hunt this year. Some great players had some outstanding seasons. It was fun for me to watch some of these other players have these outstanding years. That's really why I'm honored to win this award, but like I said I truly accept it on behalf of the team."
