QB-PEYTON MANNING (on how dangerous is Tennessee this week despite the fact the only thing they have to play for is their jobs) Wednesday, December 29, 2010
"I can't speak for that. I know how important it is for us to prepare for a good team. We had a real close game with them last time in Nashville. It's a division opponent. Both teams are very familiar with each other. We've always had close games in Tennessee and here in Indy."
QB-PEYTON MANNING (on if familiarity is a good thing in a game with this magnitude) Wednesday, December 29, 2010
"I don't know how much of a role it plays because both teams have it. It's like that really with all of our division games; Houston, Jacksonville, Tennessee. The players know the other players, so that's why it's all been close games, I think. That's what we expect this week, as well."
QB-PEYTON MANNING (on what's impressed him the most the last two weeks with the running game) Wednesday, December 29, 2010
"I'm not really ready to give it any summary, I guess. I really think what we try to do is not to divide the offense. Just like you don't divide a team. The offense's execution has been better the past two weeks. I'm not going to give any summary. There is no question our balance has been better the past couple of weeks."
QB-PEYTON MANNING (on if it makes his job easier when the running game is doing well) Wednesday, December 29, 2010
"I just think it makes your offense better overall. I think that's pretty obvious."
QB-PEYTON MANNING (on if the running backs getting healthy and the offensive line being stable plays into the recent performance in the run game) Wednesday, December 29, 2010
"I guess so. I hadn't really looked for any reasons or what not. We're not as healthy as we could be, obviously. We aren't necessarily going to get anybody back that didn't play last week. It was a real credit to have RB-Joe (Addai) back out there, credit to him for how hard he has worked to get back out there. OT-Charlie (Johnson), a credit to him for playing. We've got some tough guys on offense."
QB-PEYTON MANNING (on being named to the Pro Bowl) Wednesday, December 29, 2010
"It's a tremendous honor from the players and the fans and the coaches. It is a tremendous honor. I'm happy for WR-Reggie (Wayne) and DE-Dwight (Freeney) and DE-Robert (Mathis). I do think with the game we have this week though, it's real easy to keep everything in perspective. Everybody is focused on trying to have a good week of practice and get ready to play the Titans."
QB-PEYTON MANNING (on being in playoff mode for a month and is it good to finally see the light at the end of the tunnel) Wednesday, December 29, 2010
"I think it's very much the same approach. I wouldn't say those were our thoughts in the least bit. Every single team we've played all season we've concentrated on that team and that team alone and haven't looked at anything else. That's what Coach Caldwell talked about today. That's what the players realized. It's the Titans and that's it. That's really all we're worried about and talking about."
QB-PEYTON MANNING (on the Titans running trick plays) Wednesday, December 29, 2010
"I think you're always prepared for that every single week. You're supposed to be ready for that. Like I've said all season long, you never know what identity each game will take on. It just depends on the score and the flow of the game and what happens. I still think in these division games it comes down to execution. We need to do a good job of it."
