QB-PEYTON MANNING (on it being a short week) * *
"Obviously it's a little tougher on the traveling team because you're spending time traveling, but you have to kind of get some extra studying time in on your own and do whatever you have to do to get ready to play a good team. Their defense, they have a lot of playmakers, they give you lots of different looks, and so it's a challenge getting ready for a team like this in a short period of time."
QB-PEYTON MANNING (on if there is much new added to the game plan)
"You try to do whatever you can to find the best game plan. Obviously you want to be different and be diverse in what you're doing, and you can't do the same things every single week. It's a combination of getting ready for what they're going to do and also trying to get your best game plan put in at the same time."
QB-PEYTON MANNING (on if he has seen a difference in WR-Reggie Wayne in the absence of Marvin Harrison and other receivers)
"Reggie's playing great. We're moving him around probably a little bit more trying to call things to get him the ball. Of course the defense I think is going to be somewhat focused on him, and obviously sometimes that can free up some other guys. There's no secret that we are going to try to do different things. Good things happen when the ball gets in his hands, there's no question about that. He's playing great for us."
QB-PEYTON MANNING (on Joseph Addai carrying a big load against the Falcons)
"We always try to be pretty balanced in what we do. It's important for us every week to try to get some kind of run game going to slow down a team's pass rush, just to keep them on their heels a little bit. But there's no question, (the Falcons) are excellent against the pass. (DE-John) Abraham is outstanding as always. (DeAngelo) Hall is an excellent cover guy. They have excellent players on defense. That's pretty much what we try to do each week, is to try to get some kind of mix in the run game, drop-back passing game, play action passing game, and hopefully keep their defense kind of in check."
QB-PEYTON MANNING (on the Thanksgiving game in 2004 at Detroit)
"Those were the good memories. That was a fun occasion. I kind of wish we were wearing the throwback uniforms this year. Of course, you could hardly tell we were wearing throwbacks three years ago. We moved the stripe down like an inch and the horseshoe around. Players weren't real excited about our uniforms three years ago. I guess that's just for in Detroit or in Dallas. It's an exciting game to be playing in. Everybody watches Thanksgiving football. We're glad to be playing and have another chance to go out there and hopefully play well. It would be nice to actually get another win if possible."
