Chicago's DEVIN HESTER returned a punt 89 yards for a touchdown in the Bears' 23-20 loss to Seattle. In his career, Hester has 13 combined kick-return touchdowns (nine PR-TD, four KR-TD), tied with BRIAN MITCHELL (13) for the most in NFL history.
Hester's nine career punt-return touchdowns are tied with Mitchell for the second-most in league history (ERIC METCALF, 10).
New England quarterback TOM BRADY passed for 292 yards in the Patriots' 23-20 overtime win over Baltimore. Brady has won 23 consecutive regular-season starts at home and passed Pro Football Hall of Famer JOHN ELWAY (1996-1998) for the second-longest streak of consecutive regular-season home wins as a starting quarterback. BRETT FAVRE has the longest such streak with 25 consecutive home wins with the Green Bay Packers (1995-1998).
New York Jets running back LA DAINIAN TOMLINSON rushed for two touchdowns in the Jets' 24-20 victory at Denver. Tomlinson has 38 career games with at least two rushing touchdowns, the most in NFL history. Pro Football Hall of Famer EMMITT SMITH ranks second in NFL history with 36 such games.
Minnesota running back ADRIAN PETERSON rushed for 73 yards in the Vikings' 24-21 win over Dallas. Peterson has 5,037 career rushing yards and reached the 5,000-yard mark in his 51st game. He tied JAMAL LEWIS (51) to become the fifth-fastest running back to reach 5,000 rushing yards.
Pittsburgh wide receiver HINES WARD had five receptions for 54 yards and one touchdown in the Steelers' 28-10 win over Cleveland. Ward has now caught a pass in 183 consecutive games, tying Pro Football Hall of Famer ART MONK (1983-1995) for the fourth-longest such streak. Pro Football Hall of Famer JERRY RICE holds the NFL record with 274 consecutive games with a reception (1985-2004).
Kansas City linebacker MIKE VRABEL had a touchdown reception in the Chiefs' 35-31 loss at Houston. *Vrabel, who has 10 career catches with all 10 of them resulting in a touchdown, is the only player who began his career after 1933 with at least 10 receptions with all of them going for a TD.
*New York Giants quarterback ELI MANNING threw two touchdown passes and led the Giants to a 28-20 win over Detroit. In his career, Manning is 19-4 (.826) as a starter in October, the best mark among quarterbacks who began their career in the Super Bowl era (minimum 20 starts).
