Colts Quarterback, Defensive End Nominated for Weekly NFL Awards
INDIANAPOLIS – This past Sunday, Peyton Manning and Dwight Freeney helped the Colts to one of their biggest victories of the season.

Because of that, each has been nominated for a weekly NFL honor.

Manning, the Colts' eight-time Pro Bowl quarterback, has been nominated for the NFL's FedEx Air NFL Player of the Week Award for his performance in the Colts' 24-20 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers, and Freeney – a three-time Pro Bowl defensive end – has been nominated for the league's GMC Sierra Defensive Player of the Week award.

Manning completed 21 of 40 passes for 240 yards and three touchdowns against the Steelers, and was nominated for the award along with Jay Cutler of Denver and Kurt Warner of Arizona. Fans can vote for one player in the category on NFL.com/FedEx from 9 a.m. EST Tuesday through 11 a.m. EST Friday.

The winners will be announced Friday afternoon on NFL.com.

Freeney registered three tackles, including two sacks, and one forced fumble Sunday. He was nominated along with safety Yeremiah Bell of Miami, safety Abram Elam of the New York Jets, middle linebacker Ray Lewis of Baltimore and defensive end Julius Peppers of Carolina.

Fans can vote for one of these five players on NFL.com/gmc until Thursday at 4 p.m. The winner will be announced Thursday evening on NFL.com.
