MAN DOWN!!
Yesterday, we were extremely shorthanded. Colts In Motion was unable to make the trip to Portland for the MIP tour stop. Before I go any further into why Colts In Motion (CIM) was unable to make it, if you have never seen what it looks like, go to www.Colts.com/ColtsInMotion.Â
This will help you understand why this story is rather funny. So to give you a better understanding, there are two doors that are about 4 feet by 8 feet and they fold out into a ramp to enter CIM. Well on Wednesday we had a CIM stop in the afternoon. Our trusted driver Matt departed from where CIM is stored; however, one big problem, the back door is not securely shut.
Let me just tell you a little bit about this back door before I go on with my story. I hate this back door. My first CIM stop by myself, I was nervous and didn't really know what I was doing. I was done for the day and closing up shop when I smashed my forearm in the back door.  Maybe the most pain I have ever felt in my life. That bruised for about a month. People were actually concerned when they saw it. So to me, this back door got everything it deserved.
Back to the story. So Matt is driving down the road, when all of the sudden the back door flips down. So now we have a huge truck pulling a 42' foot trailer driving down the road and a door has now flipped open.  Surprisingly, that's not what it was made for so it broke off, IT BROKE OFF! This 4 by 8 foot door is tumbling end over end down the road. I only wish that I could have been a fly on the wall inside of the truck as Matt is looking out his side mirror seeing the door fly away. Thankfully no one was hurt, well except for CIM.Â
Before we headed to Portland, we stopped by the shop where CIM is under repair to get some stuff out of it. When we all saw the whole left by the absent door and then the door bent up, all any of us could do was laugh. Thankfully, CIM should be back with us today as we venture down to Martinsville for Fan Fest.Â
We will be in Martinsville at the high school for a special Fan Fest to help raise money for flood victims. It is from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM. There will be a community concert by Toy Factory so make sure you come out, it will be a great time.Â
And like always, feel free to email me at MIP@colts.nfl.net if you have any questions, comments or fan mail!
Go Colts!!
