Colts Add Offensive Guard Andy Alleman

The Indianapolis Colts have signed free agent G-Andy Alleman, the club announced Thursday.

Alleman (6-4, 310) enters his fourth NFL season. He originally was a 2007 third-round draft choice by New Orleans. He started four of 15 games with Miami in 2008 and opened three of nine games with Kansas City in 2009.

PRO: Signed as FA by Colts on March 11, 2010…originally was D3-07 choice, the 88th overall selection, by New Orleans…was waived on August 30, 2008…was claimed off waivers by Miami on August 31, 2008…was traded to Kansas City for undisclosed draft choice on August 24, 2009.

2009: Appeared in nine games with Kansas City, starting three, two at RG and one at LG…started at RG at Jacksonville 11/8 and at Oakland 11/15…started at LG vs. Cleveland 12/20.

2008: Appeared in 15 games, starting four at LG with Miami…made NFL debut at Arizona 9/14…made first career start vs. Buffalo 12/7…also started vs. San Francisco 12/14, at Kansas City 12/21 and at NY Jets 12/28. POST-SEASON: Started at LG vs. Baltimore in AFC Wild Card Playoffs 1/3.

2007: Was inactive for 15 games with New Orleans…was active but did not play at San Francisco 10/28.

COLLEGE: Two-year letterman at Akron who started 24 of 25 career games at RG…also appeared in 24 games as reserve DL with Pittsburgh before transferring…started 12 games as senior…started 12 of 13 games as junior…helped offense become 31st team in NCAA history to have 1,000-yard passer, 1,000-yard receiver and 1,000 yard rusher…sat out 2004 season after transferring from Pittsburgh…appeared in 12 games as DL as sophomore…credited with eight tackles…played in 12 games as freshman…saw action at defensive end and on special teams…majored in mass media/communications.
