HOT OFF THE PRESS

Alex Maxwell's 38-yard touchdown pass to Justin Drees on the final play of regulation helped East Central claim a 33-27 win over Evansville Reitz.

Pioneer ended defending Class 1A state champion Lafayette Central Catholic's 27-game winning streak with a 28-27 victory. Matthew Nusbaum's extra-point following Jack Kiser's one-yard touchdown with 40.6 seconds left was the difference as the Panthers also snapped LCC's 33-game Class 1A post-season winning streak.

Kiann McDonald converted his first field goal of the season, a 30-yard boot, with 1.6 seconds left to lift Garrett to a 31-28 upset of No. 2 (Class 3A) Mishawaka Marian.

Gavin Bane became Brownstown Central's all-time leading scorer in the Braves' 30-7 win over Evansville Memorial. Bane ran for 107 yards and one score and now has 430 career points.

Brayton Yoder scampered 26 times for a school-best 246 yards and four touchdowns in NorthWood's 52-28 win over New Haven. Yoder broke the previous mark of 228 yards established in 1995 by Panthers' head coach Nate Andrews.

Indianapolis Roncalli recorded its 400th program win with a 42-7 decision over Delta.

Tony Tinkel has ended his six-year run at Boone Grove. He was 30-33 overall, including 2-8 this past season.

Chad Dockery has stepped down after five seasons at Mooresville. He exits with a 13-38 mark and was 2-9 this past fall.
