Cornerback Sauce Gardner will wear No. 1 for the Colts, while wide receiver Josh Downs will switch from No. 1 to No. 2 beginning with this weekend's game against the Atlanta Falcons in Berlin.
Downs has worn No. 1 since entering the NFL 2023, though his brother, Caleb – a standout safety at Ohio State – wears No. 2 for the Buckeyes.
The Colts acquired Gardner, who's worn No. 1 since entering the NFL as the No. 4 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, from the New York Jets on Tuesday in exchange for two first-round picks and wide receiver Adonai Mitchell.
