HOT OFF THE PRESS

Perry Meridian is looking for a new coach after Matt Henninger stepped down after a four-year run with the Falcons. He posted a 5-35 record, including an 0-10 finish this fall.

Sean Kinsey has resigned after four seasons at Hammond Morton where he compiled a 29-15 mark, including an 8-2 record this past season with the Governors.

Hammond High will have a new coach in 2020 with the departure of Roosevelt Moore after six seasons with a 22-38 record and a 0-9 finish in 2019 with the Wildcats.

There will be a new champion in Class 3A with Indianapolis Bishop Chatard's 42-14 decision over West Lafayette.

Elkhart Memorial and Elkhart Central saw their run as football programs come to an end. The Chargers suffered a 38-6 loss to Mishawka in the Class 5A sectional semifinals, while the Blazers fell to Mishawaka in the Class 5A sectional final. The two schools will merge into Elkhart High School for the start of the 2020-21 school year.

Warsaw recorded its first win over Penn, 35-18, and their first sectional crown in the process. The Tigers were previously 0-12 against the Kingsmen.

Eastside recorded their first sectional championship in school history with a 34-0 win over Fairfield.

The Knox Redskins also recorded their first sectional championship in school history, defeating Calumet New Tech, 19-14.
