INDIANAPOLIS –The Indianapolis Colts today signed running back Alvester Alexander to the practice squad.

Alexander, 5-11, 204 pounds, was originally signed by the Colts as a free agent on August 15, 2012. He went undrafted out of Wyoming before signing with the Chicago Bears in April of this year. He was later released by the Bears in July before training camp.

At Wyoming, Alexander led the team in rushing in 2009 and 2010 and amassed 2,127 rushing yards and 27 touchdowns for his career. He holds the school single-game record for most touchdowns scored (five vs. Colorado State in 2010) and ranks sixth in school history with 27 career touchdowns.

The Colts now have eight players on the practice squad.
