INDIANAPOLIS – Pat McAfee has never been one to shy away from interacting on social media.

His tweet just after midnight on Wednesday was something hardly anyone saw coming though.

McAfee, 29, announced his retirement from the game of football, wanting to pursue a creative content career with Barstool Sports.

In typical McAfee fashion, he explained in detail why he was leaving the NFL after eight seasons of playing, and with two years remaining on his contract.
