Throughout the course of the season, Colts.com will run a "Newcomer of the Week" following each regular season game. With the Colts having an influx of the newcomers this season here's a look at the "Newcomer of the Week" from Kansas City.

This week's "Newcomer of the Week" is wide receiver Griff Whalen.

Fans might be surprised to hear which Colts receiver played the most snaps on Sunday.

Whalen's 56 offensive snaps (out of a possible 75) were the most and his production showed that.

Andrew Luck targeted Whalen eight times on Sunday with No. 17 catching seven of those passes for 80 yards.

"He did a heck of a job," head coach Chuck Pagano said of Whalen. "He's a guy that is a tireless worker; he is accountable. There's obviously a trust factor with the quarterback, going back to their college days.

Whalen also continued his punt return duties on Sunday with four returns for 32 yards in adverse conditions.

In the last two weeks, Whalen has caught 11 passes for 125 yards on 13 targets.

Over the past month, the Colts have seen Whalen, Da'Rick Rogers and LaVon Brazill all step up at various times.

Whalen has now strung together back-to-back weeks of consistent play that comes as no surprise to Pagano.

"He practices extremely hard, probably harder than he plays the game," Pagano says of Whalen.

"It's not a surprise to see Griff making the plays that he makes because we see it all the time in practice. He did a phenomenal job for the second week in a row, he got first downs for us, made some clutch catches, made guys miss in the open field, got yards after contact, so he did a great job."

**Other Newcomers of Note:

-Inside linebacker Josh McNary **played a season-high 34 defensive snaps and contributed three tackles in Sunday's win.

-Outside linebacker Bjoern Werner had a sack for a second straight week.

-Left guard Xavier Nixonwas an undrafted rookie this past year and didn't join the Colts until the regular season. Nixon, a normal tackle, started at left guard on Sunday for an offensive line that did not allow a sack.
