Colts Sign Free Agent Linebacker Najee Goode

The Indianapolis Colts have announced the signing of free agent linebacker Najee Goode, who has played in 64 career games in his time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2012) and the Philadelphia Eagles (2013-17).


INDIANAPOLIS —The Indianapolis Colts today signed unrestricted free agent linebacker Najee Goode.

Goode, 6-0, 244 pounds, has played in 64 career games (four starts) and has totaled 42 tackles (28 solo), 4.0 tackles for loss, 1.0 sack, four passes defensed, one fumble recovery and 42 special teams stops in his time with the Philadelphia Eagles (2013-17) and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2012). He has registered two career touchdowns after returning a blocked punt and a fumble for touchdowns. Goode has also seen action in four postseason contests (one start) and has tallied two solo tackles and four special teams stops. He was originally selected by the Buccaneers in the fifth round (140th overall) of the 2012 NFL Draft out of West Virginia.

In 2017, Goode was a member of the Eagles' Super Bowl LII championship team. He appeared in all 16 games (three starts) and registered 19 tackles (12 solo), 3.0 tackles for loss and 10 special teams stops. Goode played in three postseason contests (one start in the NFC Championship Game) and made two solo tackles and four special teams stops. In 2016, he saw action in all 16 games and compiled 12 special teams tackles. Goode played in 14 games in 2015 and tallied five solo tackles, 12 special teams stops and returned a blocked punt for a touchdown. In 2014, he saw action in one game before being placed on the team's Injured Reserve List on September 9. Goode appeared in 14 games (one start) in 2013 and totaled 18 tackles (11 solo), 1.0 tackle for loss, 1.0 sack, four passes defensed, one fumble recovery (returned for a touchdown) and eight special teams stops. He also played in one postseason contest. As a rookie in 2012, Goode saw action in three games.
