Colts QBs: Locker Room Trivia Ring Leaders

Andrew Luck and Matt Hasselbeck lead the Colts favorite past time: trivia.

INDIANAPOLIS --- It's Thursday, and there's a buzz among some of the offensive players. The latest round of a pastime in the Colts locker room is complete.

"Both (Matt) Hasselbeck and Andrew (Luck) are big trivia fans," explains center Jonotthan Harrison. "There's trivia time. We're eating lunch. People gather around, see who can get it right. Just for fun."

On this day, the topic was 4th grade mathematics. Hasselbeck texted the math problem to his contestants (not Luck though, because it was actually a picture of a question, and Luck's old-school phone still doesn't get pictures). The question?

Grace has three times as many strawberries as Tyler. After Grace eats 50 berries, she has half as many as Tyler. How many strawberries does Grace have left? (Scroll for the answer, in case you'd like to play along)

The answer is Grace has 10 berries left. That's half as many as Tyler's 20 berries. Before eating 50, Grace had 60 berries, which was three times as many as Tyler.

The results? Right tackle Joe Reitz: correct. Center Jonotthan Harrison: correct. Tight End Coby Fleener: incorrect.

"The Florida guy got it right, and Western Michigan (guy) got it right," said Hasselbeck, who happened to be wearing a Stanford t-shirt, the alma mater of Fleener. "I'm reconsidering the shirt."

Fleener astutely pointed out Hasselbeck didn't try to answer his own question though, after learning he told everybody Fleener didn't get the right answer.

"He's kind of like that. He's a guy that you think is a good guy," Fleener joked about Hasselbeck. "But then he tries to trick you at the end. It should be noted he sent out a child's math problem to as many people as he possibly could."

"Just a little bit," admitted Harrison jokingly, when asked if he was concerned when he heard Hasselbeck, who has kids, was asking for the answer to a 4th grade math question. "I started to worry some. He's a Boston College guy."

In all seriousness, it's a fun tradition the Colts have going in the locker room. Wonderlic, eat your heart out.

"Matt sent out a text with that math question. I'm just one that loves a challenge. I love pushing my mind, honestly. I'm a nerd like that," said Harrison, the champion on this day. "As soon as he sent that out, I just started trying to work that out in my head."

On this day, in this round of locker room trivia, Harrison and Reitz came out victorious, but if the Colts are ever looking for a real challenge, this 2-time Indy Bar Trivia Champion will be waiting.
