The Colts on Wednesday signed quarterback Philip Rivers to their practice squad and made several other roster moves.

The Colts placed cornerback Charvarius Ward Sr. on injured reserve, signed kicker Blake Grupe and quarterback Brett Rypien to the 53-man roster from the practice squad and signed center Jimmy Morrissey to the practice squad.

Ward is in the NFL concussion protocol for the third time this season after reporting symptoms Monday, head coach Shane Steichen said. Ward previously missed the Colts' Week 2 game against the Denver Broncos with a concussion, and was on injured reserve from Weeks 7-10.

Ward will be out for at least the Colts' final four games of the 2025 regular season.

The Colts signed Grupe to their practice squad last week, and he connected on both of his field goal attempts and an extra point in Week 14 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Rypien joined the Colts' practice squad in Week 7 after quarterback Anthony Richardson Sr. was placed on injured reserve.
