Colts Bring Back RB Aca'Cedric Ware; Place WR Steve Ishmael On IR

The Indianapolis Colts today announced they have signed running back Aca’Cedric Ware, and placed wide receiver Steve Ishmael on injured reserve.


WESTFIELD, Ind. — The Indianapolis Colts today signed free agent running back Aca'Cedric Ware and placed wide receiver Steve Ishmael on the Injured Reserve list.

Ware, 6-0, 203 pounds, re-joins the Colts after spending time with the team earlier this training camp. He was originally signed by Indianapolis as an undrafted free agent on July 24, 2019. Collegiately, Ware saw action in 46 career games at USC and totaled 264 carries for 1,505 yards and 10 touchdowns. He also registered 19 receptions for 126 yards.

Ishmael, 6-2, 212 pounds, spent time on the Colts' active roster and practice squad last season but did not see game action. He originally signed with the team as an undrafted free agent on May 1, 2018. Collegiately, Ishmael started 39-of-47 career games at Syracuse and compiled 219 receptions for 2,891 yards and 18 touchdowns. He finished as the program's all-time leader in receiving yardage and his 10 100-yard receiving games ranked second on the Orange career list.
