Colts announce initial 53-man roster for 2025 regular season

The Colts on Tuesday announced their initial 53-man roster for the 2025 season, though changes to it could still happen in the next 24-48 hours.

The Colts made several roster moves on Tuesday to bring their roster to 53 players.

Howard is already listed as one of the starting cornerbacks on the Colts' unofficial depth chart ahead of their third preseason game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Steichen made the announcement on Tuesday that Jones, who signed as a free agent in March, will be the Colts' starting quarterback. 

Steichen said after Saturday's preseason game he'd like to make a call on his QB1 shortly. 

Richardson only played seven snaps on Thursday before a blindside hit on a sack led to him dislocating his pinkie and exiting the game. Daniel Jones, who was scheduled to tag in for Richardson midway through the second quarter, wound up playing 31 snaps. 

Walley was in the midst of a promising training camp, during which he was consistently playing with the Colts' first-team defense. 

Richardson exited the game after he was sacked during the second drive of the first quarter.
