The Indianapolis Colts today activated safety Clayton Geathers from the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform List and waived outside linebacker Josh Perry. The team also released outside linebacker Vontarrius Dora from the practice squad.
Geathers, 6-2, 220 pounds, was placed on the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform List on September 2. He has played in 24 career games (11 starts) with Indianapolis and has totaled 91 tackles (77 solo), six passes defensed, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and 10 special teams stops. Geathers was originally selected by the Colts in the fourth round (109th overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft out of Central Florida.
Perry, 6-4, 253 pounds, was elevated to the team's 53-man roster from the practice squad on October 27 and saw action in two games. He was signed to the Colts practice squad on September 18. As a rookie in 2016, Perry played in 15 games (one start) with the San Diego Chargers and totaled 17 tackles (six solo), 1.0 tackle for loss, one forced fumble and nine special teams stops. He was originally selected by the Chargers in the fourth round (102nd overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft out of Ohio State.
Dora, 6-4, 256 pounds, was signed to Indianapolis' practice squad on October 31. He spent time on the Arizona Cardinals practice squad earlier this season. As a rookie in 2016, Dora spent time on the Denver Broncos' active roster and practice squad. He saw action in one game for the Broncos. Dora originally signed with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent on May 3, 2016 out of Louisiana Tech.
