Tamara Munoz Honored As Anthem Angel This Past SundayINDIANAPOLIS – The Indianapolis Colts are proud to announce a resident of Avon, Ind. as a 2008 honoree of the Anthem Angels program, presented by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield. Tamara Munoz, a social worker with Hendricks County Psychotherapy, was recognized as an "Anthem Angel" at the Colts home game this past Sunday, November 16, 2008, for her outstanding contribution to the community.

Munoz has been a social worker for 10 years and an active member of the American Red Cross Disaster Mental Health Team.

In honor of Tamara's dedication, she received four (4) VIP Club Seat Tickets to the Colts game, a feature story with her photo in the Colts gameday magazine (the Scout) and on www.colts.com, as well as recognition on the hhGregg Big Screens in Lucas Oil Stadium during the game.

In her role as a social worker, Munoz regularly goes beyond the call of duty to look out for her patients' best interest. At the psychotherapy practice, she helps patients deal with anxiety, depression, and loss and grievances. While previously working at a local dialysis clinic, Tamara was quick to learn new Medicare rules so that she could aid her patients in signing up and then extended the benefit of that knowledge to help her parents and their friends.

When asked about some of her most memorable experiences, Munoz said, "I remember the young teen whose baby came too soon into this world and staying with her and her family at the hospital as we all grieved the baby's passing. I also think of the days after Hurricane Katrina and listening to folks share their experiences and survival [stories, as a disaster mental health volunteer]… "

"Anthem Angels…Honoring Everyday Heroes" was established by the Indianapolis Colts and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield to pay tribute to Hoosier "First Respondents" who may have received little or no recognition for the strides they have made to help others in human-service related professions.

Nominations are still being accepted for upcoming 2008 home games. For more information about Anthem Angels, presented by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, please visit www.colts.com/anthemangels.
