Shane Steichen was hired as head coach of the Indianapolis Colts on February 14, 2023. He enters his 20th year coaching, including the past 16 seasons in the NFL.

In 2025, the Colts offense ranked in the top 10 in the NFL in numerous categories, including yards per game (345.9 – ninth), yards per play (5.78 – eighth), passing yards per game (227.8 – ninth), touchdowns (52 – fifth), points per drive (2.67 – second), points per game (27.4 – eighth), first downs (352 – tied-eighth), third down conversion percentage (42.6 – eighth), fourth down conversion percentage (66.7 – tied-fifth) and sacks allowed (29.0 – tied-seventh). From Week 7 of 2024 to Week 10 of 2025, Indianapolis scored either a touchdown or field goal in 71 consecutive red zone possessions, which became the longest streak in league history since 1993.

Steichen coached three Pro Bowl selections, including guard Quenton Nelson (eighth selection), running back Jonathan Taylor (third selection) and tight end Tyler Warren (first selection). Nelson was also named Associated Press Second Team All-Pro and became just the second NFL offensive lineman to be selected to the Pro Bowl in each of his first eight career seasons (Joe Thomas). Steichen tutored free agent quarterback Daniel Jones, who started 13 games and completed 261-of-384 passes for 3,101 yards with 19 touchdowns and eight interceptions for a single-season career-high 100.2 passer rating. He also registered 45 carries for 164 yards (3.6 avg.) and five touchdowns. Taylor compiled 323 carries for 1,585 yards (4.9 avg.) and 18 touchdowns as well as 46 receptions for 378 yards (8.2 avg.) and two touchdowns. He ranked in the top 10 in the league in rushing yards (third), rushing touchdowns (first), scrimmage yards (third) and total touchdowns (first). Warren, whom the team selected in the first round (14th overall) of the 2025 NFL Draft, played in all 17 games (12 starts) and totaled 76 receptions for 817 yards (10.8 avg.) and four touchdowns as well as one rushing touchdown. He set the franchise record for receptions and receiving yards by a rookie tight end.
