Stockstill is in his third season with the Colts and his first as offensive quality control. He served as defensive assistant the last two years (2024-25) and assisted with the defensive backs. Prior to entering the NFL ranks, Stockstill coached collegiately for five seasons.
In 2025, the Colts defense recorded a takeaway in a league-leading 15 games, finished seventh in the NFL in opponent rushing yards per game (101.9) and 10th in interceptions (14). Additionally, Indianapolis led the NFL in red zone takeaways (seven) and ranked sixth in opponent yards per play in the red zone (2.40). The Colts ranked 10th in lowest opponent passer rating (88.0). Three players eclipsed 100 tackles, including Zaire Franklin (125), Nick Cross (120) and Germaine Pratt (101). Safety Camryn Bynum accumulated 81 tackles (50 solo), 3.0 tackles for loss, 1.0 sack, eight passes defensed, a team-high four interceptions, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. He registered career highs in tackles for loss and interceptions.
Stockstill assisted an Indianapolis defense in 2024 that ranked tied for seventh in the NFL in takeaways (25) and tied for first in the league in red zone takeaways (six). The Colts also ranked 10th in the NFL in tackles for loss (88) and tied for third in forced fumbles (17). Cross had a career year as he started all 17 games and registered career highs in tackles (145), solo tackles (86), tackles for loss (6.0), passes defensed (five), interceptions (three) and forced fumbles (one). Samuel Womack III, who the team claimed off waivers after training camp, registered single-season career highs in tackles (36), solo tackles (26), passes defensed (nine) and interceptions (two).
Prior to Indianapolis, Stockstill spent three seasons at his alma mater, Middle Tennessee State, where he served as quarterbacks coach/passing game coordinator (2022-23) and wide receivers coach (2021). In 2022, he worked with quarterback Chase Cunningham, who became just the second player in school history to record multiple 400-yard passing games and became just the fourth signal-caller at MTSU to throw for 3,000 yards in a single-season. Cunningham earned Honorable Mention All-CUSA recognition.
In 2020, Stockstill was a quality control analyst at South Florida, where he worked with the offensive staff.
Stockstill served as an offensive player personnel assistant at Florida Atlantic in 2019. The Owls averaged 35.2 points per game, which ranked 16th nationally.
As a player, Stockstill was a four-year letterman at quarterback for the Blue Raiders where he finished his career as the program's all-time leader in passing yards (12,495), touchdown passes (106), 300-yard passing games (19), 400-yard passing games (three), passing yards per game (277.7), completions (1,055) and attempts (1,610). He earned master's and bachelor's degrees from MTSU in leisure sport & tourism. Stockstill played for his father, Rick, who was the head coach of the Blue Raiders for 18 years (2006-23).
Stockstill and his wife, Jessica, have a daughter, Skye, and two sons, Swayze and Rocky.
