Watt enters his fourth season with the Colts as the team's assistant offensive line coach. Prior to Indianapolis, he had three years of collegiate coaching experience.
Since 2023, Indianapolis has scored at least 20 points in 38 games, which ranks tied for fifth in the NFL.
In 2025, the Colts offense ranked in the top 10 in the NFL in numerous categories, including yards per game (345.9 – ninth), yards per play (5.78 – eighth), passing yards per game (227.8 – ninth), touchdowns (52 – fifth), points per drive (2.67 – second), points per game (27.4 – eighth), first downs (352 – tied-eighth), third down conversion percentage (42.6 – eighth) and fourth down conversion percentage (66.7 – tied-fifth). From Week 7 of 2024 to Week 10 of 2025, Indianapolis scored either a touchdown or field goal in 71 consecutive red zone possessions, which is the longest streak in league history since 1993. Additionally, the Colts set an NFL record with 13 consecutive games of 300 total yards with at least one passing touchdown and at least one rushing touchdown (Week 16 of 2024 to Week 10 of 2025).
The Colts tied for the seventh-fewest sacks allowed in 2025. Guard Quenton Nelson was named Associated Press Second Team All-Pro and became just the second NFL offensive lineman to be selected to the Pro Bowl in each of his first eight career seasons, joining Pro Football Hall of Famer Joe Thomas.
Running back Jonathan Taylor compiled 323 carries for 1,585 yards (4.9 avg.) and 18 touchdowns. He also tallied 46 receptions for 378 yards (8.2 avg.) and two touchdowns en route to Pro Bowl honors. Taylor ranked in the top 10 in the league in rushing yards (third), yards per carry (10th), rushing touchdowns (first), scrimmage yards (third) and total touchdowns (first).
For the second consecutive season, Indianapolis ranked in the top 10 in the NFL in rushing yards per game (137.1 – eighth) in 2024. The Colts tied for the seventh-fewest sacks allowed (32) and ranked sixth in games with no sacks allowed (four). The offensive line helped Taylor finish fourth in the league in rushing yards (1,431). Nelson was an Associated Press Second Team All-Pro choice and was named to the Pro Bowl (seventh selection).
Watt worked with two rookie draft picks in tackle Matt Goncalves (third round, 79th overall) and guard Tanor Bortolini (fourth round, 117th overall). Goncalves played in all 17 games with eight starts (five at right tackle and three at left tackle), while Bortolini saw action in 12 games (five starts at center). Indianapolis also received contributions from undrafted rookie free agent guard Dalton Tucker, who appeared in 14 games (seven starts at right guard).
In 2023, the Colts offensive line helped pave the way for Indianapolis to finish in the top 10 in the NFL in points per game (23.3 – tied-10th) and rushing yards per game (121.1 – 10th). Center Ryan Kelly (fourth selection) and Nelson (sixth selection) were each named to the Pro Bowl.
Watt helped tutor rookie tackle Blake Freeland, whom the team selected in the fourth round (106th overall) of the 2023 NFL Draft. Freeland played in 16 games with nine starts (seven at right tackle and two at left tackle).
Watt has also served on the coaching staffs at the Senior Bowl the last three years, including offensive line coach (American Team – 2026), tight ends coach (National Team – 2025) and offensive line coach (American Team – 2024).
In 2022, Watt was a graduate assistant at his alma mater, Notre Dame. He worked with a Fighting Irish offense that compiled over 5,000 yards of total offense (2,457 rushing, 2,693 passing) and two 1,000-scrimmage-yard finishers in Audric Estime (920 rushing, 134 receiving) and Logan Diggs (821 rushing, 211 receiving). Tight end Michael Mayer finished third among all tight ends nationally in receiving yards (809) and first in touchdowns (nine).
Before returning to Notre Dame, Watt was the offensive line coach at Tulane in 2021 and helped an offensive unit produce a top-five rushing attack (1,977 yards) in the American Conference. Running back Tyjae Spears led the team in rushing with 863 yards and nine touchdowns on 129 carries.
Watt began his coaching career as a graduate assistant for the Fighting Irish in 2020, primarily helping with the offensive line. In 2020, he was part of a Notre Dame team that finished 10-2 and clinched a College Football Playoff berth. The offensive line unit finished as the 2020 Joe Moore Award runner-up, which is an award given to the most outstanding offensive line unit in college football. Running back Kyren Williams earned Second Team All-ACC accolades after he finished in the top 10 in the nation in multiple offensive categories, including rushing yards (1,125 – ninth), rushing touchdowns (13 – tied-10th) and scrimmage yards (1,438 – eighth). Quarterback Ian Book also had a standout year as he completed 228-of-353 passes for 2,830 yards and 15 touchdowns with three interceptions.
Prior to getting into coaching, Watt worked with college recruits across the Midwest and Pennsylvania. He also worked as the director of business development at Array Sports and Entertainment in Chicago.
As a player, Watt was selected in the third round (89th overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft by the San Diego Chargers. In two seasons with the Chargers, he appeared in 17 games (eight starts). Watt signed with the New Orleans Saints in the 2017 offseason and retired later that year.
After redshirting his freshman season, Watt played in 50 career games (37 starts) over four seasons (2009-2013) at Notre Dame, primarily at left guard. He received the Pietrosante Award, which is given to the best student-athlete who displayed courage, loyalty, teamwork, dedication and pride.
Watt majored in marketing with a minor in anthropology.
