The Colts on Tuesday signed free agent safety Nasir Adderley.
The 28-year-old Adderley previously spent four seasons (2019-2022) with the Los Angeles Chargers before announcing his retirement from the NFL in March of 2023. In February of 2026, Adderley announced on social media he intended to return to the NFL.
Over four seasons with the Chargers, Adderley appeared in 50 games (44 starts) with 227 tackles, three interceptions, two forced fumbles and four tackles for a loss. A 2019 second round pick (No. 60 overall) from Delaware, Adderley became a full-time starter for Los Angeles in 2020, with all 44 of his starts coming from 2020-2022.
Adderley is the third safety the Colts have signed in free agency this year, joining Jonathan Owens and Juanyeh Thomas. The Colts lost safeties Nick Cross (to Washington) and Rodney Thomas II (to Seattle) in free agency in March as well.
