INDIANAPOLIS – It's the offseason, so Colts.com takes a look at some tweets from Colts players to get an idea of what they are up to during their down time.
It was an injury-ridden third NFL season for Donte Moncrief. A shoulder injury sidelined Moncrief for six games. A hamstring injury later in the season also forced Moncrief out of the lineup for a brief period. It's a good sign to see Moncrief back to training. The 2018 campaign is a contract season for Moncrief, the final of his four-year rookie deal, which he inked after being taken in the third round of the 2014 NFL Draft.
Dwight Freeney is the headliner of former Colts in this year's Super Bowl. Other Falcons who used to don the Horseshoe include LB-Philip Wheeler and TE-Jacob Tamme (on injured reserve). The Patriots have former Colts in RB-Dion Lewis and LB-Trevor Bates (practice squad). I'd assume the rooting interest for virtually all of Colts Nation will ride with Freeney and the Falcons a week from Sunday.
In the Cincinnati area, presumably trying to find another Ryan Kelly-caliber player, Nick Saban saw his former center. Kelly started all 16 games for the Colts this past season, the first time a Colts' center has done that since Jeff Saturday in 2011. It would be wise for the Colts to stay close to Saban's side with the 2017 NFL Draft including several quality talents from the Crimson Tide.
