The Colts on Thursday signed free agent defensive end Micheal Clemons.

Clemons was selected in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft by the New York Jets and spent the first four years of his career with the Jets, appearing in 65 games (24 starts) and recording 8.5 sacks, 13 tackles for loss, 20 quarterback hits and 119 total tackles. His most productive season came in 2024, when he recorded a career-high 4.5 sacks. Listed at 6-foot-5 and 263 pounds, Clemons will bring more size, strength and depth to the Colts defensive line.

A native of Garland, Texas, Clemons played at Texas A&M from 2017-21; he overlapped with current Colts linebacker Buddy Johnson in 2020 and cornerback Jaylon Jones from 2020-21. Clemons also played with current Colts cornerback Sauce Gardner on the Jets; the two were both in the Jets' 2022 draft class.
