Indianapolis – The Indianapolis Colts today placed cornerback Jaylon Jones on the Injured Reserve list, signed safety Trey Washington to the practice squad and released safety Darrick Forrest from the practice squad. The team also elevated running back Ulysses Bentley IV and cornerback Chris Lammons to the active roster from the practice squad for Sunday's game against the Denver Broncos.
Jones, 6-2, 203 pounds, was selected by the team in the seventh round (221st overall) of the 2023 NFL Draft. He has appeared in 35 career games (27 starts) and has registered 143 tackles (98 solo), 4.0 tackles for loss, 17 passes defensed, two interceptions, one forced fumble and one special teams stop. Jones saw action in Week 1 vs. Miami.
Washington, 5-10, 205 pounds, spent time on the team's practice squad earlier this season. He was originally signed by Indianapolis as an undrafted free agent on May 9, 2025. Collegiately, Washington played in 52 career games (29 starts) at Mississippi (2021-24) and totaled 201 tackles (114 solo), 6.5 tackles for loss, 18 passes defensed, five interceptions, three forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.
Forrest, 5-11, 200 pounds, was signed to the team's practice squad on September 9, 2025. He participated in the Buffalo Bills' 2025 offseason program and training camp. Forrest saw action in 40 games (17 starts) in four seasons (2021-24) with the Washington Commanders and compiled 126 tackles (78 solo), 1.0 tackle for loss, nine passes defensed, four interceptions, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and 11 special teams stops. He also appeared in two postseason contests and registered two special teams tackles.
Bentley IV, 5-10, 200 pounds, was elevated to the active roster from the practice squad for Week 1 vs. Miami and played. He was originally signed by the team as an undrafted free agent on May 9, 2025. Collegiately, Bentley IV played in 57 career games (16 starts) at Mississippi (2022-24) and SMU (2019-21) and registered 468 carries for 2,591 yards (5.5 avg.) and 28 touchdowns. He totaled 66 receptions for 484 yards (7.3 avg.) and three touchdowns. Bentley IV also contributed 19 kickoff returns for 410 yards (21.6 avg.).
Lammons, 5-10, 190 pounds, spent time on the team's active roster and practice squad last season. He was originally signed by Indianapolis as a free agent on July 27, 2023. Lammons has played in 60 career games (two starts) in his time with the Colts (2023-25), Kansas City Chiefs (2019-22), Miami Dolphins (2018-19), New Orleans Saints (2018) and Atlanta Falcons (2018). He has compiled 32 tackles (19 solo), 1.0 tackle for loss, 1.0 sack, four passes defensed, one interception, two forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and 12 special teams stops.
