Colts punter Rigoberto Sanchez has been in the NFL for nine seasons, and he's arguably never been as popular across the league as he is right now.
His highlights have been spread across all social media channels, his name has been brought up during games the Colts aren't even playing in and during the games the Colts do play in, the cameras always seem to find him.
And he's only punted once.
Through the Colts' first two games of the 2025 season, Sanchez only saw the field when he was called to hold the ball for kicker Spencer Shrader's field goal attempts. Shane Steichen's offense was so efficient with Daniel Jones behind center they scored on 10 straight drives to start the season, setting an NFL record.
They turned the ball over twice on downs against the Denver Broncos in Week 2 but still scored seven times to win 29-28.
Sunday's game against the Tennessee Titans looked like it would be about the same as the Colts started off with a Kenny Moore II pick-six, a Shrader field goal and a Jonathan Taylor touchdown. But finally, on the Colts' third drive of the game, Sanchez was called upon to finally go do his primary responsibility for the team
Even then, Sanchez almost didn't end up punting – the referees threw a flag on the Colts' third down attempt that was quickly called back with no penalty on the play – but he eventually got out on the field and booted the ball to pin Tennessee at their own nine-yard line.
"I was kind of pissed about it, to be honest," Steichen said postgame with a laugh. "He got some work in today finally. Yeah, we were on the headsets, like crap, we punted. Shoot. Because we thought we had the penalty, so we're like, we've still got it going, and then we had the punt there. But it was a hell of a punt, got them backed up."
Sanchez didn't punt again.
With one punt in their first three games, the Colts now have the fewest punts by any team in the first three games of an NFL season since at least 1940, per Adam Schefter.
Additionally, with 20 straight drives without a punt the Colts tied the league record for fifth longest streak of drives without a punt since 1993; the record since 1993 is held by the 2005 Colts, who went 27 straight drives without a punt.
