Colts CB Justin Walley sustains torn ACL, out for season

Walley was in the midst of a promising training camp, during which he was consistently playing with the Colts' first-team defense.

Colts head coach Shane Steichen said Thursday rookie cornerback Justin Walley sustained a torn ACL and will miss the 2025 season.

Walley exited Tuesday's joint practice with the Baltimore Ravens and did not return.

A third-round pick (No. 80 overall), Walley had turned heads during training camp. The Minnesota product had worked alongside veteran cornerbacks Kenny Moore II and Charvarius Ward with the Colts' first-team defense throughout camp, and Walley made plays both at outside corner and in the slot.

"Huge blow," Steichen said. "I think he was having a hell of a camp. His man coverage skills were great, he was making a ton of plays in practice too before it happened."

Cornerbacks JuJu Brents and Jaylon Jones have both missed practices recently with hamstring injuries. Steichen said earlier this month Jones' hamstring injury is more severe than Brents'.
