WHEELER TO INJURED RESERVE

Linebacker Philip Wheeler has been placed on injured reserve with a foot injury. The Colts claimed wide receiver Quan Cosby off waivers from Denver.

INDIANAPOLIS –The Indianapolis Colts have claimed wide receiver Quan Cosby off waivers from the Denver Broncos and placed linebacker Philip Wheeler on Injured Reserve.

Cosby, 5-9, 189 pounds, is a three-year veteran who has spent time with the Cincinnati Bengals (2009-10) and Broncos (2011). In 42 career games, he has totaled six receptions for 71 yards (11.8 avg.) and a long catch of 23 yards. Cosby has also contributed with 97 punt returns for 968 yards (10.0 avg.) and 33 kickoff returns for 740 yards (22.4 avg). In 10 games with the Broncos this season, he has totaled 27 punt returns for 269 yards and 17 kickoff returns for 457 yards with a long of 63.

Wheeler competed in 13 games (11 starts) and totaled 80 tackles (44 solo), one sack and one forced fumble. He tied his career-high in tackles with 10 on three occasions against Tampa Bay, New Orleans and Atlanta.
