Roster Moves: Colts Claim CB D.J. White; Waive Dillon Day

Intro: The Indianapolis Colts today claimed cornerback D.J. White off waivers (from Kansas City) and signed cornerback Denzel Rice to the practice squad. The team also waived center Dillon Day and released cornerback Channing Stribling from the practice squad.

The Indianapolis Colts today claimed cornerback D.J. White off waivers (from Kansas City) and signed cornerback Denzel Rice to the practice squad. The team also waived center Dillon Day and released cornerback Channing Stribling from the practice squad.

White, 5-11, 193 pounds, has played in 11 games with the Kansas City Chiefs (2016-17) and compiled 11 tackles (10 solo), three passes defensed and one interception. He did not see game action with the Chiefs this season. White was originally selected by Kansas City in the sixth round (178th overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft.

Collegiately, White appeared in 48 games (34 starts) at Georgia Tech and totaled 162 tackles (133 solo), 3.5 tackles for loss, 21 passes defensed, seven interceptions and five forced fumbles. He was an All-ACC honorable mention selection in 2014.

Rice, 6-0, 195 pounds, has played in seven career games and tallied nine tackles (six solo) in his time with the Houston Texans (2016) and Philadelphia Eagles (2015). He has also seen action in one postseason contest. Rice participated in the Texans' 2017 offseason program and training camp before being waived on September 8.

In 2016, Rice spent time on Houston's active roster and practice squad. He played in three games and registered nine tackles (six solo). Rice also made his postseason debut, appearing in one game. As a rookie in 2015, he saw action in four games. Rice originally signed with the Eagles as an undrafted free agent on May 2, 2015 out of Coastal Carolina.

Day, 6-4, 299 pounds, was claimed by the Colts off waivers (from Denver) on October 25. He spent time on the Broncos' active roster and practice squad this season but did not see game action. Day spent the entire 2015 and 2016 seasons on Denver's practice squad. He originally signed with the team as an undrafted free agent on May 2, 2015.

Stribling, 6-1, 188 pounds, was signed to Indianapolis' practice squad on September 26. He spent two weeks (Weeks 1-2) on the Cleveland Browns practice squad earlier this season. Stribling participated in the Browns' 2017 offseason program and training camp before being waived on September 1. He originally signed with Cleveland as an undrafted free agent on May 4, 2017 out of Michigan.
