INDIANAPOLIS – For the first time, as a part of the NFL Run Series, the Indianapolis Colts are hosting a Back to Football 5K Run, strengthened by Indiana University Health, on Saturday, August 24. All participants will have the opportunity to finish the race on the 50-yard line at Lucas Oil Stadium. They will be cheered on by Colts Cheerleaders and Alumnus Marlin Jackson, and will receive a run t-shirt and a medal. A Kids PLAY 60 Fun Run will also be held for youth. Proceeds from the race will benefit the American Heart Association. To register for the race, visit www.nflrunseries.com/colts. Online registration is open until August 22. Walk-up registration will be available during packet pick-up on August 23, as well as on race day.
The NFL Run Series began in 2012 with six NFL teams. This year, the NFL expanded the run to include 12 teams, one of which is the Colts. This year's run will take place the morning of the Colts vs. Browns game, and features a route that will take runners and walkers through Downtown Indianapolis. Following the race, participants and their guests will be able to enjoy a post-race tailgate party outside the Lucas Oil North Gate. The party will include Colts inflatables, the Colts In Motion traveling museum, sponsor booths and more.
