The NFL named Colts kicker Spencer Shrader the AFC Special Teams Player of the Month for the month of September. Shrader made 13 field goals and successfully converted all 12 of his PATs, scoring a total of 51 points in the month of September.
This marks the first time in his career Shrader has earned Player of the Month honors.
Shrader currently leads the NFL with his 13 made field goals and 51 total made points; he has a 92.9 field goal percentage, missing a 51-yard field goal in Week 3. In Week 4, he connected on a career-long 52-yard field goal.
But the highlight of the month came in the Colts' Week 2 victory over the Denver Broncos, as Shrader kicked a walk-off 45-yard field goal to win the game. The Colts relied heavily on Shrader throughout the game, and he went 5-for-5 on field goal attempts and 2-for-2 on PATs, scoring 17 of the Colts' 29 points.
Shrader is the first Colts player to earn Player of the Month honors since running back Jonathan Taylor in November of 2021 and the first Colts player to earn Special Teams Player of the Month honors since kicker Adam Vinatieri in October of 2016.
