INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Colts on Friday put in their final preparations for Sunday's 2018 regular season opener against the Cincinnati Bengals — but still aren't crystal clear about the playing status of a couple of their major pieces on offense.

Starting left tackle Anthony Castonzo and top running back Marlon Mack, each of whom have been battling hamstring injuries since at least early-August, are both listed as questionable for Sunday's game.

The only other player listed for Sunday, tackle/guard Denzelle Good, is officially out with a knee/wrist injury.

Castonzo, who suffered his hamstring injury while working out on his own before the start of training camp, began camp on the team's Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list. After a few days he made his return to the lineup, but he re-aggravated the same hamstring injury on Aug. 3.

The eighth-year veteran missed the entire preseason, but was able to return to the practice field, albeit on a limited basis, on Wednesday. Castonzo was also listed as a limited participant on Thursday and Friday, and head coach Frank Reich declined to say on Friday if Castonzo had taken any reps with the first-team offense the past couple days.

Mack, meanwhile, suffered a hamstring injury during the team's preseason opener against the Seattle Seahawks on Aug. 9, and made his return to the practice field on Thursday — also on a limited basis. He was listed as limited again on Friday.

The second-year South Florida product is listed atop the team's unofficial depth chart at running back, and is hoping to improve upon his rookie campaign in 2017, when he logged 358 yards and three touchdowns rushing, as well as 225 yards and another score through the air.

Notable quotable

"I'm pretty even-keel in a lot of respects, but I'm pretty passionate when I speak in those settings. I always have been. When you invest as much as we invest as coaches and players, it means a lot. I think that comes out in those things. I tend not to script those things out a whole lot. You think about it a little bit. But you just go with the moment and let your heart and passion show." — Colts head coach Frank Reich, on if he's planning an elaborate speech for the players before his first official game as an NFL head coach this weekend.

Injury report

Here's Friday's full practice report; included is their status for Sunday's game (if applicable):

» DNP: T/G Denzelle Good (knee/wrist; out)

» Limited: T Anthony Castonzo (hamstring; questionable); RB Marlon Mack (hamstring; questionable)

» Full: CB Nate Hairston (hamstring); LB Darius Leonard (ankle/chest); WR Zach Pascal (calf); LB Anthony Walker (groin)
