INDIANAPOLIS – As if he needed one, Adam Vinatieri has added another pristine bullet point to his Hall of Fame resume.
On Thursday, Vinatieri was chosen to the "Super Bowl 50 Golden Team."
The Super Bowl 50 Golden Team was chosen by the Pro Football Hall of Fame Board of Selectors and honored the best overall career performances in Super Bowl history.
The Colts kicker was the only unanimous selection.
Vinatieri has hit two last-minute game-winning field goals in the Super Bowl (Super Bowl XXXVI vs. St. Louis on Feb. 3, 2002, and Super Bowl XXXVIII vs. Carolina on Feb. 1, 2004). He's been a part of four Super Bowl Championship teams: Super Bowl XXXVI, Super Bowl XXXVIII, Super Bowl XXXIX and Super Bowl XLI.
He is the only kicker in NFL history to record field goals in four Super Bowls (XXXVI, XXXVIII, XXXIX and XLI) and is the only kicker in league history to have played in five Super Bowls.
Vinatieri holds the following NFL postseason records: most career points scored (234), most career field goals made (56), most career field goals attempted (68) and most career PATs made (66).
Vinatieri's 30 career postseason games are the second most in NFL history (Tom Brady has played in 31).
There are 22 Pro Football Hall of Famers on the Super Bowl Golden Team.
