INDIANAPOLIS —The Indianapolis Colts today waived linebacker Jermaine Grace, running back Matt Jones, wide receiver Justice Liggins, nose tackle Joey Mbu, defensive end Arthur Miley and linebacker Darnell Sankey. The team also waived-injured defensive tackle Johnathan Calvin. If Calvin clears waivers, he will revert to the Colts Injured Reserve List.
Grace, 6-1, 223 pounds, was claimed by the Colts off waivers (from Atlanta) on November 15, 2017. As a rookie last season, he played in 11 games with Indianapolis and Atlanta and registered four special teams tackles. Grace originally signed with the Falcons as an undrafted free agent on May 2, 2017.
Jones, 6-2, 239 pounds, has played in 25 career games (seven starts) and has totaled 248 carries for 964 yards and six touchdowns in his time with the Colts (2017) and Washington Redskins (2015-16). He has also caught 27 passes for 377 yards and one touchdown. Jones spent time on Indianapolis' active roster and practice squad in 2017. He saw action in five games and compiled five carries for 14 yards.
Liggins, 6-1, 210 pounds, was signed by Indianapolis to a reserve/future contract on January 2, 2018. He participated in training camp with the Colts in 2017 before being waived during final cuts on September 2, 2017. Liggins originally signed with Indianapolis as a free agent on August 15, 2017. He also spent time with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League in 2017.
Mbu, 6-3, 323 pounds, has appeared in nine career games and has collected seven tackles (three solo) in his time with the Colts (2017), Washington Redskins (2016) and Atlanta Falcons (2015-16). He spent time on Indianapolis' active roster and practice squad in 2017. Mbu played in seven games and tallied three tackles (two solo).
Miley, 6-6, 270 pounds, signed a reserve/future contract with Indianapolis on January 1, 2018. He spent time on the Colts practice squad in 2017. As a rookie in 2015, Miley spent the entire season on the Carolina Panthers Injured Reserve List.
Sankey, 6-2, 250 pounds, signed a reserve/future contract with the Colts on January 11, 2018. He spent the last five weeks of the 2017 regular season on the Baltimore Ravens practice squad. Sankey also saw action in six games with the Colts in 2017 and spent time on the team's practice squad. He originally signed with Indianapolis as a free agent on August 23, 2017.
Calvin, 6-3, 266 pounds, signed a reserve/future contract with Indianapolis on January 1, 2018. He had two stints (Weeks 2-3, 17) on the Colts practice squad in 2017. Calvin participated in the Green Bay Packers' 2017 offseason program and training camp before being waived during final cuts on September 2, 2017. He originally signed with Green Bay as an undrafted free agent on May 5, 2017.
