Roster Moves: Colts Sign Three To Active Roster From Practice Squad; Place T/G Joe Haeg On IR

The Indianapolis Colts on Friday made several roster moves, signing three players to the active roster from the practice squad, placing tackle/guard Joe Haeg on IR and waiving two other players.

INDIANAPOLIS —The Indianapolis Colts today elevated tight end Mo Alie-Cox, running back Jeremy McNichols and defensive end Carroll Phillips to the 53-man roster from the practice squad and waived linebacker Skai Moore and tight end Erik Swoope. The team also placed tackle/guard Joe Haeg on the Injured Reserve list.

Alie-Cox, 6-5, 267 pounds, was signed to the Colts practice squad on September 2. He signed a reserve/future contract with the Colts on January 1, 2018. Alie-Cox participated in the team's 2018 offseason program and training camp before being waived during final cuts on September 1. In 2017, he spent the final 13 weeks of the season on Indianapolis' practice squad. Alie-Cox originally signed with the Colts as an undrafted free agent on April 21, 2017.

McNichols, 5-9, 205 pounds, has had two stints on the Indianapolis practice squad this season. He was originally signed to the team's practice squad on September 3. McNichols participated in the San Francisco 49ers' 2018 offseason program and training camp before being waived during final cuts on September 1. As a rookie in 2017, he spent time on the 49ers' active roster and practice squad. McNichols saw action in two games and tallied one special teams tackle. He was originally selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the fifth round (162nd overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft.

Phillips, 6-3, 242 pounds, was signed to the Colts practice squad on September 3. He participated in the Jacksonville Jaguars' 2018 offseason program and training camp before being waived during final cuts on September 1. Phillips spent time on the Jaguars' active roster and practice squad as a rookie in 2017. He played in four regular season games and saw action in two postseason contests. Phillips was originally signed by Jacksonville as an undrafted free agent on May 1, 2017.

Moore, 6-2, 218 pounds, was signed by Indianapolis as an undrafted free agent on May 1, 2018. He played in three games (one start) this season and made two tackles. Moore started 37-of-50 career games at South Carolina and totaled 353 tackles (213 solo), 20.5 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, 20 passes defensed, 14 interceptions (one returned for a touchdown), three forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.

Swoope, 6-4, 255 pounds, has spent time on the Colts' active roster and practice squad this season. He appeared in two games in 2018 and caught two passes for 20 yards. Swoope originally signed with Indianapolis as an undrafted free agent on March 13, 2014. He has played in 19 games (four starts) with the Colts and has caught 17 passes for 317 yards and one touchdown.

Haeg, 6-6, 305 pounds, was originally selected by Indianapolis in the fifth round (155th overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft. In 2018, he started three games for the Colts at right tackle (two) and left tackle (one). Haeg has started 32-of-34 career games for Indianapolis at four different positions, including right guard, right tackle, left tackle and left guard.
