Warm temperatures blistered fans Wednesday evening at Colts Training Camp in Terre Haute. Nevertheless, thousands of fans engulfed Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology where the Colts participated in their first night practice of the 2009 training camp.
Scattered amongst the crowd, Indianapolis native Steve Mizsak donned a different type of blue jersey. Mizsak is an avid Michigan Wolverine fan, andwhen the Colts drafted running back Mike Hart in the sixth round of the 2008 draft, his admiration for the Colts transpired.
"I had always appreciated the Colts, but my true passion was Michigan footall," Mizsak said.
"But when I found out a Wolverine was coming to play for the Colts, I became a lot stronger fan of the Colts."
Mizsak's passion ignited for the Wolverines in 1986 while he was working in Phoenix. Michigan encountered the University of Nebraska in the Fiesta Bowl, where the Wolverines topped the Huskers 27-23. Since then, Mizsak has been devoted to the Big Blue. Now, originating as fan of Michigan has allowed Mizsak to become a fan of the Colts speed blue.
Mizsak explored Colts City and the different sites it had to offer. Afterward, Mizsak stepped over to Cook Stadium to watch his beloved Colts run through drills.
"It's great to see all these people out here," Mizsak said. "It's a great atmosphere and a great opportunity to watch them."
Crammed in the front row of the sideline, Mizsak observed his favorite player and the former Michigan standout Hart alongside the rest of the Colts. Mizsak said he is excited about the Colts upcoming season and is hoping for a return to the Super Bowl.
Colts City will reopen again Saturday, August 8th, at 8:00 a.m.
