Colts Host Pre-Game CollectionINDIANAPOLIS – This Sunday, November 2, the Colts will team up with ADVANTAGE Health Solutions to host a collection benefiting Claire's Comfort for Kids prior to kickoff of the Colts vs. Patriots game. From 6:15-8:15 p.m., volunteers from the Indiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence (ICADV) and the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) will be collecting cash donations at the Colts Community Collection Stations located outside each Lucas Oil Stadium Gate. Anyone who donates $5 or more will receive a special Colts bookmark.
Claire's Comfort for Kids was created by Claire Helmen, a 7th grade student at Saint Thomas Aquinas School in Indianapolis. Having observed her mother's work with victims of domestic violence, Claire wanted to find a way to help children who are often victims of trauma. Facilitated by the ICADV, Claire's Comfort for Kids provides blankets to all IMPD patrol officers, who in turn offer them to children involved in traumatic situations such as domestic abuse, automobile accidents, fires, separation from parents, etc.
