Colts Make Additions To Coaching Staff

The Indianapolis Colts today announced several changes and additions to their coaching staff, including the hiring of Brian Baker (defensive line coach), Mike Groh (wide receiver coach) and Tyler Boylers (assistant to the head coach), while Kevin Patullo (pass game specialist) and Parks Frazier (offensive quality control coach) take on new roles.

INDIANAPOLIS —The Indianapolis Colts have hired Brian Baker as defensive line coach, Mike Groh as wide receivers coach and Tyler Boyles as assistant to the head coach. Additionally, Kevin Patullo has been named the team's pass game specialist and Parks Frazier is offensive quality control coach.

Baker has 36 years of coaching experience, including 19 seasons in the NFL. He served as associate head coach/defensive line coach at Alabama in 2019. From 2016-18, Baker was the defensive line coach at Mississippi State. He was an assistant coach at Covenant Christian Academy of Colleyville (Texas) in 2015. Baker previously spent 19 years (1996-2014) in the NFL and coached eight Pro Bowlers. He spent time on the defensive staffs for the Washington Redskins (2014), Cleveland Browns (2013), Dallas Cowboys (2011-12), Carolina Panthers (2009-2010), St. Louis Rams (2006-08), Minnesota Vikings (2001-05), Detroit Lions (1997-2000) and San Diego Chargers (1996). Baker coached at Georgia Tech from 1987-95. He served as the linebackers coach in each of those years and added the defensive coordinator title in 1995. Baker coached running backs at Army in 1986. He spent two seasons at his alma mater, Maryland, as a graduate assistant (1985) and student assistant (1984). Baker played outside linebacker at Maryland from 1980-83 and helped the Terps win the ACC championship in 1983.

Groh has 20 years of coaching experience, including eight seasons in the NFL. He spent the last two seasons (2018-19) as the offensive coordinator of the Philadelphia Eagles. Groh originally joined the Eagles as wide receivers coach in 2017. He also served on the offensive coaching staffs of the Los Angeles Rams (2016) and Chicago Bears (2013-15). Groh has 12 years of collegiate coaching experience at Alabama (2009, 2011-12), Louisville (2010) and Virginia (2001-08). He began his coaching career with the New York Jets in 2000. Groh was a two-year starting quarterback at Virginia from 1994-95 and played in the World League with the Rhein Fire in 1997.

Boyles has seven years of coaching experience at the collegiate level and spent the last five years (2015-19) at Middle Tennessee State. He worked as a graduate assistant from 2015-16 before being moved to offensive quality control coach prior to the 2017 season. Boyles served as the quarterbacks coach and director of football operations at LaGrange College in 2014. He began his coaching career in 2013 as an offense/football operations intern at Eastern Kentucky. Boyles played basketball at Shawnee State.

Patullo was the team's wide receivers coach for the past two seasons (2018-19). He was on the Texas A&M coaching staff in 2017 as a senior offensive assistant. Patullo previously coached with the New York Jets (2015-16), Tennessee Titans (2014), Buffalo Bills (2010-12) and Kansas City Chiefs (2007-08). He also coached collegiately at Arizona (2004-06) and his alma mater, South Florida (2003-04). Patullo played quarterback and wide receiver at South Florida from 1999-2002.

Frazier served as assistant to the head coach for the past two seasons (2018-19). Prior to Indianapolis, he coached three seasons at the collegiate level at Arkansas State (2016-17), Middle Tennessee State (2015) and Samford (2015). Frazier played quarterback at Murray State (2012-14) and Northeast Mississippi Community College (2011).
