**Gary Attorney Honored As Anthem Angel This Past Sunday

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indianapolis Colts are proud to
announce a resident of Gary, Ind. as a 2009 honoree of the Anthem
Angels program, presented by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield.
Shontrai DeVaughn Irving was recognized at the Colts home game on
Sunday, November 8, for his outstanding contribution to the
community.
Shontrai, nominated by Deanne Sasser, has been a Prosecutor protecting the lives of children against abuse and neglect for the past few years. To give back, he is a single foster parent to six young children.
Shontrai DeVaughn Irving has always believed in giving back to his community. As he served as a prosecutor in Lake County, Indiana he saw the effects abuse and neglect had on the lives of children. At that point he made it his duty to be an activist for foster children while devoting a majority of his time to speaking with local legislators about foster care, becoming a public speaker at local schools, and encouraging individuals to make a difference in a child's life. Currently Shontrai serves as an attorney in Gary, Indiana and is a single foster dad for six young children. Congratulations to our Anthem Angel, Shontrai DeVaughn Irving.
In honor of Shontrai's heroism, he received four (4) VIP Club Seat Tickets to the Colts game, a feature story with his photo in the Colts gameday magazine (the Scout) and on www.colts.com, as well as recognition on-field recognition at the game.
"Anthem Angels…Honoring Everyday Heroes" was established by the Indianapolis Colts and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield to pay tribute to Hoosier "First Respondents" who may have received little or no recognition for the strides they have made to help others in human-service related professions.
