INDIANAPOLIS (November 6, 2013) – Indiana Blood Center and the Indianapolis Colts will host the 14th annual Bleed Blue Blood Drive and Health Fair at Lucas Oil Stadium on Saturday, December 14, 2013. Doors will open to the public at 8 a.m. This event is the largest single-day blood drive in Indiana. To say thank you to volunteer donors, anyone who participates in the blood drive will receive a limited-edition Colts football featuring punter Pat McAfee.
Appointments for the Bleed Blue Blood Drive on Dec. 14 are encouraged. In past years, all slots were filled in the weeks leading up to the event. To schedule a blood donation appointment, visit colts.com/bleedblue or call Indiana Blood Center at 800-632-4722.
The 2013 Bleed Blue Blood Drive and Health Fair will also include access to the field, a free health fair (8 a.m. – 3 p.m.), half-price concessions, free fitness classes, Colts Cheerleaders and Blue, free parking and much more. Donor Center Days and Mobile Blood Drives
Indiana Blood Center will continue its Bleed Blue blood drives, offering Pat McAfee limited-edition footballs to participants in donor centers in late December and on select mobiles.

Now in its 14th year, the annual Bleed Blue Blood Drive traditionally attracts thousands of donors to both Lucas Oil Stadium and Indiana Blood Center donor centers and mobiles each December, which is a time when blood supplies can become low due to the holidays and fewer donors.

Indiana Blood Center was founded in 1952 and is a non-profit community resource organization dedicated to maintaining a stable blood supply for more than 60 hospitals throughout Indiana. In order to meet patient's blood needs, Indiana Blood Center must see 550 donors every day. This goal is met with the help of 102,257 volunteer donors and through the dedication of more than 375 Indiana Blood Center staff who live the daily mission of delivering a constant, stable supply of blood components to patients in Indiana hospitals.
