Colts named finalist for ESPY Sports Humanitarian Team of the Year award

Kicking The Stigma was founded by Jim Irsay, his family and the Colts in 2020 to improve mental health awareness, research and treatment in Indiana and across the United States.

With the support of a Kicking The Stigma Action Grant, the HOPE Family Care Center in Cicero, Ind., is able to offer mental health counseling to uninsured or underinsured people – a population that often is unable to find help with mental health.

The Colts and Kicking The Stigma, though, did more than just toss a football in a display case. Through a Kicking The Stigma action grant, Recovery Cafe Muncie added a critical component to their ecosystem: The MEND (Motivate, Empower, Navigate, Discover) Program, which provides peer-to-peer recovery services.

More than 65 Indianapolis Colts players – as well as the Irsay family, General Manager Chris Ballard and Head Coach Shane Steichen – will wear customized cleats and shoes that highlight charitable organizations in Indiana and across the country during this season's My Cause My Cleats game this Sunday at New England.

Indianapolis – The Jim Irsay family and the Indianapolis Colts will mark World Mental Health Day on Oct. 10 with efforts over the next few weeks that shine a light on mental health.  

Indianapolis – The Jim Irsay family today awarded $1.25 million in Kicking The Stigma Action Grants to 24 nonprofits and organizations, with impact in Indiana, who provide mental health treatment services or raise awareness about mental health. 

The Indianapolis Colts and Kicking The Stigma today announced a statewide collaboration with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) Indiana to provide free coffee cup sleeves to coffee shops across Indiana that promote mental health awareness.

The Colts were named a finalist for the prestigious honor for the second consecutive year. 

Continuing their advocacy for mental health, the Jim Irsay family and the Indianapolis Colts will invite fans to learn more about mental health and wellness during 2024 Mental Health Awareness Month this May.

Since 2021, Project Healthy Minds has been a founding partner organization of Kicking The Stigma. The two have collaborated on public service announcements, corporate training and galas.
