Indianapolis – The Indianapolis Colts have installed two new Mamava lactation suites at Lucas Oil Stadium, providing more options for nursing mothers who prefer a private location to breastfeed or pump at Colts games or other stadium events.
Created by Mamava, the suites are self-contained, mobile pods with comfortable seating, a fold-down table, interior lighting, an electrical outlet for a breast pump, a USB port and a door that can be locked for privacy. The four-by-eight foot pods are meant for individual use, but can fit more than one person, such as mothers with other children in tow.
The Colts and the stadium unveiled the first Mamava lactation suite in August. Response to the suite during the first several home games was so strong that the Colts decided to purchase two additional pods to accommodate even more nursing mothers on game days.
The three stadium suites now will be located at:
- Street Level, southwest corner near Section 132.
- Street level, northeast corner outside of Sections 108-110.
- Terrace Level, southeast corner outside of Sections 518/619.
In addition to the Mamava pods, the Mother's Room, another location for breastfeeding or pumping, is located on the Loge Level next to the stadium administrative offices near Sections 307/407.
"The response to our first Mamava suite was amazing, demonstrating that there is a definite need and desire by new moms for this type of space in the stadium," said Kalen Jackson, Colts vice chair & owner, and a new mother. "We're so happy to provide more options for our mothers who are also Colts fans, as well as for other guests, staff and visitors at Lucas Oil Stadium."
