As a redshirt sophomore, he earned Third Team All-ACC accolades after he started nine games at right tackle and was part of an offensive line that helped the Hokies produce an ACC-high 240.1 rushing yards per game average. Also helped Virginia Tech running backs produce a school-record 5.58 yards per carry.
In 2019, he saw action in 13 games (five starts at right tackle). Recorded a blocked field goal against North Carolina in the fifth overtime, which led to a Hokies' victory in the sixth overtime.
Redshirted the 2018 season.
Attended Western Albemarle High School in Crozet, Va.
Named 2017 VHSL Class 3A all-state selection.
Invited to the 2022 East-West Shrine Bowl.
Was an all-conference, all-district and all-region selection on the offensive line.

His father, Jon, served as Virginia Tech's senior defensive analyst in 2021.
Has two brothers, Zach and Matt. Zach serves as defensive coordinator at Norfolk State University and Matt plays professional baseball with the Monterrey Sultans.
