Competed in 49 games (28 starts) at California (2017-22) and totaled 207 tackles (137 solo), 7.0 tackles for loss, 1.0 sack, 14 passes defensed, seven interceptions (one returned for a touchdown), three forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. Led the team in interceptions in back-to-back seasons (2021-22).
As a team captain in 2022, he started all 12 games he saw action in and tallied a single-season career-high 85 tackles (57 solo), 2.5 tackles for loss, seven passes defensed, a team-high three interceptions and two forced fumbles. Earned Honorable Mention All-Pac-12 accolades. Garnered Third Team All-Pac-12 accolades from Phil Steele and Pro Football Focus. Led the team in interceptions.
In 2021, he started all 12 games he appeared in and recorded 82 tackles (60 solo), 4.5 tackles for loss, 1.0 sack, five passes defensed, a team-high three interceptions and one forced fumble. Earned First Team All-Pac-12 accolades from Pro Football Focus. Led the team in interceptions and tackles per game (6.8).
Appeared in four games (three starts) in 2020 and accumulated 20 tackles (10 solo) and one pass defensed. In the season-opener at UCLA, he registered 11 tackles (six solo) and one pass defensed.
In 2019, he played in 11 games (one start) and tallied 16 tackles (seven solo), one pass defensed and one interception. Selected as the J. Scott Duncan Award, which is given to Cal's most valuable special teams player. Earned Cal's Special Team Player of the Week honor against Stanford.
As a redshirt freshman, he appeared in 10 games and compiled four tackles (three solo) and one fumble recovery.

Finished his career with 73 receptions for 1,255 yards and 14 touchdowns on offense while also adding 119 tackles, 6.0 tackles for loss, 12 passes defensed, seven interceptions and one fumble recovery. Also contributed 14 punt returns for 142 yards and one touchdown.
As a team captain senior, he was named the Pasadena Star-News Area and Angelus League Defensive Player of the Year as well as a first team all-conference selection.
In 2016, he tallied 70 tackles, 4.0 tackles for loss, five interceptions as well as 41 receptions for 688 yards and 10 touchdown receptions.
