Colts Announce "Operation Blue Out" in Honor of Team's Primetime Appearances

Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard Declares “Blue Week”; Team Partners with WTHR Channel 13 and 1070/107.5 The Fan to Plan Additional Festivities

INDIANAPOLIS – Today, in honor of their back-to-back appearances on national television this week, and to celebrate the return of primetime football to Lucas Oil Stadium, the Indianapolis Colts have announced an "Operation Blue Out" beginning October 14 through October 20. During this time, the Colts are asking fans across Indiana to wear blue throughout the week and to the game on October 20. In addition, the team has planned several events and promotions around this effort, including a special edition poster, Blue's Fan Van Stops, blueing of the canal, and much more.

The Colts will travel to the west coast on Monday, October 14, to play the San Diego Chargers on ESPN's Monday Night Football before returning to Lucas Oil Stadium on October 20, for a matchup with the Denver Broncos on NBC's Sunday Night Football. This is the first primetime football game to be held at Lucas Oil Stadium since 2011. The primetime games will be televised locally on WTHR Channel 13. The radio broadcasts can be heard on 1070 and 107.5 FM The Fan, as well as 97.1 HANK FM. Both media outlets are teaming up with the Colts to support the "Operation Blue Out" efforts.

BLUE WEEK DECLARATION (OCTOBER 14-20)

In support of "Operation Blue Out," Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard has declared it "Blue Week" throughout the city beginning October 14-20, and is encouraging all citizens to wear their Colts blue in support of the team.

"OPERATION BLUE OUT" COMMEMORATIVE POSTERS (OCTOBER 15-20)

In honor of the return of primetime football to Lucas Oil Stadium and in partnership with WTHR Channel 13 and 1070/107.5 The Fan, the Indianapolis Colts have created a commemorative "Operation Blue Out" poster for fans. The posters will be available at six (6) Meijer locations throughout Central Indiana from 4:00-8:00 p.m. beginning on Wednesday, October 16 through Friday, October 18, while supplies last.

HANK FM TICKET PROMOTION (OCTOBER 15-18)

Listen to Hank FM all week long! Every morning at 7:10 fans will have a chance to win a pair of tickets to the Colts vs. Broncos game and a meet-and-greet with country music star Sara Evans before the game.


SOCIAL MEDIA CONTESTS (OCTOBER 16-18)

Beginning Wednesday, October 16, the Indianapolis Colts will host contests on Twitter (@colts), Facebook (facebook.com/colts) and Instagram (@colts) giving fans the opportunity to win a variety of prizes, including tickets to the game on October 20. Stay tuned to www.colts.com/blueout for information.

In addition, local businesses are encouraged to submit a photo of their office going blue for the opportunity to win a COLTSTRONG Office Takeover, which includes catering and visits from Colts Cheerleaders and Blue. Photos can be submitted at www.colts.com/officeparty.

BLUE'S FAN VAN (OCTOBER 16-18)

Throughout the week, Blue's Fan Van will be making stops at Meijer stores in the Indianapolis area, to distribute prizes to Colts fans who are showing their team spirit by sporting blue apparel. BLUE LIGHTS ON SOUTH STREET (OCTOBER 14-20)

The Indianapolis Colts have installed blue LED string lights on the trees along South Street in front of Lucas Oil Stadium. These lights will be on beginning at 7 p.m. through 7 a.m. each day of the week during "Operation Blue Out."

WTHR CHANNEL 13 POSTER PASSOUT (FRIDAY, OCTOBER 18)

On Friday, October 18, WTHR Channel 13 will host a drive-thru poster pass-out at their headquarters, located at 1000 N Meridian St, Indianapolis, Ind., beginning at 6:30 a.m. while supplies last. To pick up a poster, cars should enter the WTHR parking lot off of Tenth Street, just west of Meridian St.


COLTS BLUE FRIDAY (FRIDAY, OCTOBER 18)

The Colts host Meijer Blue Friday events before every home game at various Meijer store locations. Meijer Blue Friday events include Colts cheerleader autographs, Colts giveaways and Colts In Motion, the team's traveling museum (weather permitting).  Fans may also win Colts tickets to upcoming home games through a spin-to-win wheel and register to win autographed items. The Blue Friday on October 18 will be held from 5-6 p.m. at the Noblesville Meijer store (17000 Mercantile Blvd, Noblesville, Ind. 46060). Fans will have the opportunity to win tickets to the Colts vs. Broncos game at the event.

GAMEDAY (SUNDAY, OCTOBER 20), presented by Lucas Oil Products

As primetime football returns to Lucas Oil Stadium, the Indianapolis Colts have planned some special activities on gameday for their fans. These include a free zipline in American Family Insurance Touchdown Town from 5:30 p.m. – 8 p.m, blue foam fingers from WTHR Channel 13 to the first 3,000 fans inside American Family Insurance Touchdown Town as well as blue rally towels from Lucas Oil Products for the first 50,000 fans inside the stadium. American Family Insurance Touchdown Town is located on the north end of Lucas Oil Stadium, along South Street and the adjacent parking lot. It will open at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 20, and close at 8:00 p.m. in preparation of kickoff at 8:30 p.m.
